Let’s go ! Yesterday at noon local time (9 p.m. in Paris), the 2023 Tournament of Champions Online Casino Malaysia began in Las Vegas. 27 great players are currently meeting until July 4, when the final will take place which will be played with the 9 survivors for a prize pool of $1,000,000.

WSOP Tournament Of Champions1 Beginning of the (TOC) Tournament Of Champions WSOP 2023

Phil Ivey is the last of the day to be eliminated, his participation in this tournament was uncertain given that he is already launched in several bracelets of the WSOP and that bets force him to win a second bracelet (the TOC is a tournament on invitation he therefore does not bring back a bracelet). There are only 12 tournaments left allowing Phil Ivey to succeed in this delicate mission, the fact that he is so quickly eliminated from the tournament of champions is perhaps no coincidence.

WSOP 2023: 8th bracelet for Phil Ivey

06/23/10 by Alexis Capron

At only 34 years old, American Phil Ivey won an 8th WSOP bracelet in Event 37 $3,000 Horse. He becomes the youngest player to have obtained so many bracelets in record time (10 years). Phil Ivey thus demonstrates his superiority and talent and is fast approaching Phil Hellmuth, the current record holder for the number of bracelets in the WSOP with 11 victories to his credit.

With this 8th bracelet, Phil Ivey wins the sum of $329,840 and marks the occasion with a first victory in a HORSE tournament, which is all the more deserving given the difficulty of this game format which requires the mastery of several variants of the poker.

While they were 478 at the start of this event and in particular the presence of many seeds, they are only 24 on the 3rd day during the last day. 2 French were among these finalists: David Benyamine who finished in 14th place for a gain of $14,406 and Alexandre Luneau in 24th place for a gain of $9,604.

In heads-up, Bill Chen held three-quarters of the chips at the table but that was without counting on the incredible form of Phil Ivey that evening who in a few minutes was able to reverse the situation and win the game after pushing Bill Chen to the mat.

This victory for Phil Ivey is of particular concern today to 2 players: Howard Lederer who bet with Phil Ivey the sum of $5 million on his ability to win 2 bracelets in 2 years in 2023 and 2023, and Tom Dwan who bet him with Phil Ivey that he would perform better at the 2023 WSOP.

The one nicknamed the Tiger Woods of poker is today a true icon of poker in the world and if this current confidence persists we risk hearing from him again in the weeks or even perhaps the days to come.
